I pre-order Sims 3 from amazon and I finally receive it today, But amazon said if I preorder my Sims 3 I would get a promotional code for a vintage car. Does it come with the shipping or I have to wait how does this work Answer: The code in the box for the collectors edition is for the European sports car. It's not the same as the vintage car for preorders. I never got my Amazon promotional code either. I'm having to contact EA and maybe Amazon to try and get the code sorted out. |

Want to deal in vintage and classic cars (pre-1945) But dont have the capital. What to do? Question: Besides OWNING a vintage car can anyone tell me if there are other wways of dealing in classic cars and profitingfrom them? Would like to buy one, have it appreciate, sell it and re-invest in more expensive models. Dont have the means. Any suggestions? Also: a used car dealer license is on $75.00 in michigan Answer: An honest question. This is a field loaded with lots of people looking to make a quick buck. That aside, you'll need to become very knowledgeable on antique cars and trucks. Most of the well off dealers are the ones who have done their homework and beat on certain cars to become the next money makers. |

Looking for vintage pre-1960 cookbooks? Question: Does anybody know of a good place where I can find them besides ebay? I have a few people that had some sitting around that just gave them to me or sent them to me. I'd like to mix it up a bit. I will be displaying the on a wall in my kitchen. Answer: that sounds a really good idea. I think charity shops are your best bet. Try speaking to the workers in charity shops, because these sort of books are the exact type that are trashed and dont even make it to the shelves.( i know, pure ignorance! :) ) Bring in a couple that you have at home, show them, and ask that they keep an eye out for something similar and reserve for you. |

What is the law in mot's regarding diesel cars of pre 1979 vintage? Question: I am under the impression that cars of this age are not emission tested. It is just a visual test. Answer: The only emission test applicable to Diesel engines is the measuring of exhaust smoke density. The test involves accelerating the engine several times to its maximum unloaded speed. Note: it is of the utmost importance that the engine timing belt is in good condition before the test is carried out. The limits for Diesel engine exhaust smoke, introduced in September 1995 are: Vehicles first used before 1st August 1979: Exempt from metered smoke testing, but must not emit "dense blue or clearly visible black smoke for a period of more than 5 seconds at idle" or "dense blue or clearly visible black smoke during acceleration which would obscure the view of other road users". Non-turbocharged vehicles first used after 1st August 1979: 2.5m-1 Turbocharged vehicles first used after 1st August 1979: 3.0m-1 Excessive smoke can be caused by a dirty air cleaner element. Otherwise, professional advice may be needed to find the cause. |

Does it have to be the collector's edition? Finally, do you think that they will run out of collector's editions quickly since the sims 3 website said while supplies last? The usb is in it anyway whether you preorder the collectors or not. Answer: IT's only collectors, and I heard that besides the USB, the prima guide, the car, you also get a free expansion when they come out. But don't hold me to that. It's not on any official place. Yea, they'll run out reasonably fast. |

How come British men are so obsessed with American vintage cars (pre 1990), whats wrong with English cars? Question: pleased with answers so far, please tell fellow UK collectors of US 70's cars like Corvettes, Dodge Chargers, etc as seen in 70's cop shows like Starsky & Hutch popular in the UK or Tarentino movie Death Proof to give it a rest, unless they want to admit in public they prefer American cars over British. for which they would get lynched. Looking for vintage cookbooks pre 1960? Question: Does anybody know anyplace besides ebay for me to look? Obvioulsy antique stores and flea markets. I have a few people that have given my some or sent them to me because they're just collecting dust at their house. They will be displayed in my kitchen. Answer: I actually find a lot at thrift stores. People clean out when they have empty nest syndrome and get rid of some great cookboks...thrift store prices can vary but I usually get them from 50 cents to $5.00 for big ones in great shape. |

Best Men's Vintage Clothing (pre-1960) in New York City? Question: Where can one find a good selection of men's clothes, or those kinds of styles, from the 1930's, 40's, and 50's ? Things like spectator shoes, Ricky Ricardo jackets, gaberdine, shirts, belts, etc? Answer: Last time I was in NYC, I bought my boyfriend some fab vintage gear (1940s cuff-links and a 1950s jacket) in a vintage store on Broadway but I can't quite remember which one it was! So here's a list of the vintage stores on Broadway: Andy's Chee-pees, 691 Broadway, Greenwich Village (near 3rd St). Tel: 212-420-5980. What Goes Around Comes Around, 351 West Broadway, Soho. Tel: 212-343-9303 I seem to remember the shop I went to was North of Greenwich Village, in which case it's more likely to have been the second one. Anyway, the shop in question had hips of men's pre- and immediate post-war clothing on offer. Their prices were decent. Hope this helps! |
